What is anxiety?

It is an emotion or a feeling of apprehension from the anticipation of danger. Anxiety can also be termed as a feeling or state of unease or unwanted concern.

Types of Anxiety Disorders

There are many kinds of Anxiety Disorders. They are not psychotic disorders. Anxiety disorders are always mistaken as psychotic. Anxiety is not a negative feeling. Emotions are there to help us to deal with a situation, solve a problem. But as it’s said “excessive intake of honey is poisonous”, in the same way excessive anxiety and worries are commonly grouped under anxiety disorders.  There are 8 types of anxiety disorders. A person can be over anxious to various situations.

Anxiety disorders are broadly classified in to two

  1. Anxiety Neurosis- it is almost persistent causeless fear. It is characterized by uncertainty.
  2. Free floating Anxiety- pervasive unfocused fear.

Different types of anxiety disorders

  1. Generalized anxiety disorder.
  2. Panic disorder.
  3. Specific phobia.
  4. Social phobia.
  5. Agoraphobia.
  6. Obsessive compulsive disorder.
  7. Post traumatic stress disorder.
  8. Acute stress disorder.

the problem of anxiety and depression is very common at this time, therefore, needed to take the necessary measures to counter the chronic-anxiety.
