If you thought my last healthy snacks article on oat cakes was not enough, here is more. In this article I will discuss about the health benefits of peanuts and how you can prepare a healthy snack from peanuts.
Peanuts are a good source of healthy fats to be more clear mono unsaturated fats. The ratio of people who knows that peanut is a pulse and not a nut is too less even in this era of wellness boom. Peanuts are consumed by a great majority of population on a daily basis in the form of peanuts, peanut butter, chocolates with peanut chips … the list goes on. Ingredients
- Peanut paste -50 grams
- Jaggery syrup-5 table spoon
- Milk -175 ml
- Water-100 ml
- Cardamom powder-one teaspoon full.
Method of preparing peanut healthy snack
Roast the peanuts. Grind them with water and make paste as smooth as possible. Take the paste in a vessel and boil the paste after adding jaggery syrup to it. Add half milk to the paste. Keep on stirring till it boils. Once it gets boiled well do add the rest of the milk. Allow it to cook till bubbles start coming up.
This sort of porridge can be very much taken hot or cold. This is an energy packed food and a great food for those who are underweight.
Peanuts and peanut butters satiety value is too high. Peanut butter can make huger at distance at least for 2 hours 15 minutes. It’s an interesting fact that having a peanut snack any time of the day will keep you consuming lesser calories throughout the rest of the day.
Hypertensive patients are advised NOT to go for this snack. So do people who are highly susceptible to common allergy triggers. Keep off tasted and moldy peanuts away from consumption as this will create afflatoxins that would be having detrimental effects on our health. It can even lead to cancer.
